Checklist of Section 8
 
Documents to be submitted are as follows:

  1. One (1) copy of the completed Form A and signed before the Commissioner for Oaths/ Magistrate.
  2. Proof of Death - copy of death certificate/ death certificate extract from the National Registration Department/ Burial Permit/ Letter of Oath by 2 independent witnesses who witnessed the death or attended the funeral/ Presumption of Death Order from the High Court.
  3. Copy of applicant’s Identification Card is compulsory (copy of front and back cover).
  4. Copy of beneficiary’s Identification Card (copy of front and back cover)/ Birth Certificate (for beneficiaries aged less than 12 years old).
  5. Copy of the Marriage Certificate of the deceased – if applicable.
  6. Copy of Registration/ Adoption of Children Certificate (For non-Muslims, if applicable).
  7. Title/ Grant - Please obtain a certified true copy (CTC)/ official search from the Land Administrator or Registrar of title for claimed immovable assets (Submit original CTC/ official search copy together with one photocopied copy) or Two (2) copies of the Purchase of Claimed Assets/ Property - if the asset is still without a title.
  8. Copy of current year quitrent receipts, if any.
  9. Copy of current year assessment tax receipt for ownership of multi-storey buildings or blocks or multi-levelled land parcels.
  10. Copy of debt statement still borne by the deceased - if there are any debts.
  11. Other documents related to the property of the deceased included as part of the claim.

 
Checklist on the Application Registration of Section 17

The next application – Form P must be submitted to the Land Office or Estate Distribution Unit where the initial application (Section 8 - Form A) for the distribution of property of the deceased has been completed.

Documents to be submitted are as follows:

  1. One (1) copy of the completed Form P.
  2. One (1) copy of the initial order/ notice of hearing.
  3. If the next application is for the purpose of:
    1. Title/ Grant - Please obtain a certified true copy (CTC) from the Land Administrator or Registrar of title for claimed lands. Submit original CTC copy together with one photocopied copy.
    2. Cancel the Administrative Power of Attorney/ Trustee. Please submit a copy of the title (grant) that has been registered with the names of the administrator/ trustee.
    3. Movable assets left behind. A copy of these movable assets.
