Collection of Survey Fees According to New Rates Under the National Land Code (Survey Fees) (Amendment) Order 1975 (Revised 2007)

This circular is issued to inform Land Administrators regarding when the taking of possession of land may be carried out—pursuant to Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act 1960 (hereinafter referred to as the “LAA”)—and the procedures for its execution. The issuance of Form K is referred to in the LAA as the “taking of possession” (Section 18), while the service of Form K upon the occupants or the affixing of Form K onto the land is termed the “taking of formal possession” (Subsection 22(1)).

This circular is issued to advise Land Administrators on the guidelines for the payment of land acquisition compensation in cases where the landowner or an interested party has passed away.
