As a pioneer for the national land administration and management, JKPTG roles are :
- Amendment or improvement of any provision of land law and legislation regarding with land administration
- Management of the record of Federal Goverment's Property in Land
- To make an acquisition of the alienated land for Federal Project purposes
- Tenancy and enforcement of Federal Goverment's Property in Land
- Management of Small Estate Distribution
General power of Director General Land and Mines (Section 8, National Land Code 1965)
- Consult and correspond with any State Director .
- Required any State Director to furnish him with such returns, reports, and other information as he may require relating to land administration within the state
- Convene meetings of the State Directors for the purpose of consultation concerning the administration of this act)
- With the approval of the State Director, enter within and inspect the records of any Land Registry or Land Office in any State
- With the concurrence of the State Director, issue such circulars relating to the administration of this act as may be considered desirable
