The Department of the Director General of Federal Lands and Mines (JKPTG) plays an important role in managing Federal Government lands in accordance with the provisions under the Federal Lands Commissioner Act 1957. The acquisition of Federal land is carried out to implement development projects for the benefit of the people. Methods of acquisition include purchase, reservation, application to the State Government, as well as land acquisition under the Land Acquisition Act 1960. To date, the acquisition and management of Federal lands have been successfully implemented through close cooperation among all agencies at the Federal and State levels.

In addition, JKPTG also leads initiatives to enhance the national land administration system. Among the measures undertaken are the establishment of a Special Task Force to assist in resolving outstanding land matters; the harmonization of laws and regulations through amendments to land legislation; the issuance of circulars and related guidelines; as well as the introduction and expansion of information and communication technology (ICT) usage in land administration and management at both Headquarters and State levels.

The continuous cooperation of all land administration agencies in every State has greatly contributed to the success of these efforts. The implementation of computerized systems has also increased ICT literacy and fostered a culture of digital adoption among land administration personnel. The Department extends its highest appreciation to all parties for their support and looks forward to even closer collaboration so that JKPTG can continue to perform its role more effectively.

The upgraded JKPTG website has been developed to meet the needs of stakeholders comprising government agencies, private sector entities, and the public, including both citizens and non-citizens. It is hoped that this platform will be fully utilized to further strengthen JKPTG’s service delivery system. All constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement of the website as well as the national land administration system are most welcome, and we extend our sincere thanks in advance.
