    4. Development and Legislation Division Meeting
    5. Meeting to set and review annual work targets for Management Development and Legislation Division Meeting
  5. Responsible for Land Conservation Act 1960 and the Land Acquisition Act 1960.
  6. Advice on adminstrative and land legislations.

Function
  • To cooperate with state’s audit unit in conducting management and compliance audit on National Land Code 1965 at the district and state land administrative level.
  • To conduct scheduled auditing based on the ’ Follow Up Follow Through’ concept (JKPTG Strategic Planning).
  • To implement the Star Rating System (SSR) in land offices
  • To audit and monitor the implementation of decisions made through meetings, seminars, conferences, and circulars pertaining to land administration.

 

 
 
 
 
 
Background

The Policy and Consultation Division (BD&K) formerly known as Section of Research and Development Study is a division that was created after the restructuring of the Department of the Director General of Federal Land and Mines (JKPTG) in 2015.BD&K is one of the divisions under the Management and Legal Development Sector (SKPP) ), JKPTG.

Function

BD&K is divided into 2 units that perform the following functions:

1. Policy Unit
(i) Coordinating, reviewing, updating and preparing the Circular of the Director General of Federal Land and Mines and related circulars;
(ii) Provide legal advice and land administration services to the responsible states;
(iii) Carry out studies and research on issues and problems involving legislation and land administration;
(iv) Prepare and coordinate answers to relevant Parliament questions; and
(v) Collecting data on the Malay Reserve Land throughout Peninsular Malaysia for record purposes and the needs of Parliamentary questions.

2. Legal Unit
(i) Responsible for the National Land Code (KTN) including proposed amendments;
(ii) Carry out studies and research on issues and problems involving legislation and land administration;
(iii) Prepare and coordinate feedback from the Council of Ministers, the National Land Council and the Malaysian Land Director;
(iv) Prepare and coordinate answers to relevant Parliament questions; and
(v) Secretariat to the Technical Meeting on the amendment of the National Land Code.

• Studying land laws and related laws for the purpose of research on development policies and land laws from time to time;
• Conduct research on current issues in land management and to resolve by amending and enacting laws;

• Help create a modern, efficient and effective land management system at the state and district level.
